We built this elaborate deck for a customer on Orcas Island. This structure was built in place.
We love tiny homes at Cascadian Design-Build. We made this one on Orcas Island. Then, we delivered it fully completed and ready to go to Spring Point.
We built this deck in place on Orcas Island. The roof adds an extra bit of flair while providing some relief from the elements.
At Cascadian Design-Build, we work with your needs. This quaint guesthouse is 14 feet by 24 feet and features a living room and bedroom. It was built to replace a turn-of-the-century homesteader cabin on the same spot, but we modeled the roofline after that original structure to preserve the sense of history. That's not where the flourishes end. The ceiling features chunky exposed rafters made from Doug Fir milled on-site. We used a structurally insulated panel design to make the roof extra efficient.
Then, we created the additional bathhouse. This smaller structure has the same timber roof with slim 8-inch panels and full 1-inch Fir board siding. The interior of the bathhouse has custom-built VG Fir cabinets and a deluxe porcelain sink. The tub is classically styled with tiled walls. It's a remarkable project!
We provided full service during this build! During the construction of the cabin, we installed a temporary structure for our customers. The new cabin is 360 square feet with a full bathroom, kitchen, and generous bedroom. The bathroom has a stacked washer and dryer with an on-demand water heater, sink, and shower. The kitchen is simple and classy. Once we delivered and installed the new structure, the customers had a comfy forest dwelling with all the amenities they craved.
This project was personal! We expanded our shop at Cascadian Design-Build to include a much larger covered area. This allows us to work out of the elements all year long. We built two bays that were 50 feet long and 22 feet tall, so we can accommodate cabin builds up to 40 feet long and 15 feet tall. Since we work out of the elements, we keep our tools and materials dry, but we still have a vibrant connection to the forest surroundings that keeps us inspired. This project allowed us to triple our production.
This simple carport added real value to the property. We crafted a single-car structure with a simple profile. By using a clean post and beam design, we were able to create great lines. This carport features custom knife plate hardware and #1 Doug Fir timber.
This was a one-of-a-kind remodel. For this project. we took an unfinished Vardo wagon shell and rebuilt it into a classic beauty. To achieve the perfect look, we used some of our favorite finishes. This was certainly a special project, and we love the outcome!
